Friday 10th March
Friday 10th
We were up and away by 09.20 and got to Becky’s by 13.10
after long hold up in the Blackdown Hills due to roadworks. Usual stop at Starbucks on Salisbury
Plain. John donated two large bags of
logs.
We were in Coverack by 18.00. It’s raining.
Coverack is a pretty fishing village, as far as we can see. Being positive, let’s start with a big shout
out for out Airbnb at the Old Carpenter’s Shop.
It has been most beautifully converted.
There’s a large double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor with
comfy bed and very modern bathroom - with bath.
Apart from the hotel in Newquay, all we have had up to now is
showers. What you need after a long day
walking is a good soak.
The open plan ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen -
and I do mean fully. There’s a dish
washer and a washing machine with dryer.
There’s a double oven with induction hob. Full complement of utensils and matching
crockery. We will feel guilty for going
out to eat.
As you have already guessed, there’s also a wood burning
stove. Chris gets it going.
There’s only one snag.
The property is up a steep and narrow lane. We have been advised to reverse up it, because of the difficulty of turning at the
parking spot in front of the cottage. In
the rain, after a long day’s driving? I
don’t think so. We go up front wise and
unload. We cook pasta and snuggle up in
front of the cosy stove.
